Fall Kick-Off Jamboree

 
WSSC Fall 2012 Jamboree (U-8 to U-11 teams)

7th Annual WSSC Kickoff Jamboree - Saturday Sept. 8, 2012

The WSSC 2012 Kickoff Jamboree is intended to provide recreational youth soccer players with an opportunity to fine-tune their play just prior to the start of the fall season. This is a free jamboree for WSSC teams (and HSA club teams on a space-available basis).

Registration: Free for WSSC U-8, U-9, U-10 and U-11 teams on a first-come, space-available basis. (Note: U11 District teams are not eligible; their first season game is Sept. 8th)
Sign ups began at the Coaches meeting, held July 19th.

Event Date: Saturday, September 8th, 2012

Game Times / Schedule (Tentative):
2 or 3 games, depending on number of teams entered.
Morning games (girls teams): 9am, 9:50am, 10:40am, 11:30am
Afternoon games (boys teams): 12:20pm, 1:10pm, 2pm, 2:50pm
**Game times (and number of games) may change slightly depending on # of teams entered

Schedules:

Fields: Games will be played at:
U8 - Riverview North, 7226 12th Ave. SW, Seattle
U9 - Highland Park, 1100 SW Cloverdale Street, Seattle
U10 - Riverview South, 7226 12th Ave. SW, Seattle
U11 - EC Hughes, 2805 SW Holden Street, Seattle

Game Specifics:

  • All Games Must start on time, no exceptions!
  • All games will have 15-minute halves, and a 5-minute halftime
  • Referees will be provided by WSSC. If we are short refs, an adult can ref the game.
  • IF teams can NOT agree to a single referee, each team will have their volunteer referee one half of the game.
  • Game ball is to be provided by the HOME Team
  • Courtesy rule: can add a player if a team is 3 or more goals behind

Please be kind to the teams following you by removing all debris from the fields and sidelines after completion of each game.

 
Jamboree RULES

Jamboree RULES (please read)

EACH COACH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR READING AND UNDERSTANDING THESE RULES!

1. ADMINISTRATION

A. The following rules will take precedence in all jamboree affairs. In situations not covered, WYS rules will take precedence.
B. ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH WEST SEATTLE SOCCER CLUB (OR HIGHLINE SOCCER ASSOCIATION). NO EXCEPTIONS.
C. NO DOGS or pets at fields.

2. PLAYING RULES

A. Each coach will be personally responsible for proper spectator conduct.
B. The first team listed on the schedule is designated as the "home" team and will have its choice of sideline. The home team will change jerseys in the event of a color conflict.
C. Substitutions will be allowed only with the Referee's permission.
D. Referee's decisions are FINAL. No protest of any kind including referee judgment calls will be accepted.
E. Summary of rules by Age Group (posted on WSSC Web site on the RULES page), modified for jamboree:

U-8 Rules

  • Size of Ball - #3
  • Number of players on field - 4 vs. 4 (3 plus goalkeeper), max roster size is 8
  • Length of each half - 25 minutes (15 minute halves for jamboree), 5 minute halftime
  • No offsides rule, but discourage cherry picking
  • Use fouls as a teaching opportunity.
  • No direct/penalty kicks. All kicks will be indirect
  • Allow retries on throw-ins and use as teaching opportunity
  • No scores will be kept
  • No restrictions regarding the use of drop-kicks from the goalkeeper

U-9 Rules

  • Size of Ball - #4
  • Number of players on field - 5 vs. 5 (4 plus goalkeeper), max roster is 9
  • Length of each half - 25 minutes (15 minute halves for jamboree), 5 minute halftime
  • No offsides rule, but discourage cherry picking
  • Use fouls as a teaching opportunity
  • No direct/penalty kicks. All kicks will be indirect
  • Allow retries on throw-ins and use as a teaching opportunity
  • No scores will be kept
  • No restrictions regarding the use of drop-kicks from the goalkeeper

U-10 Rules

  • Size of Ball - #4
  • Number of players on field - 6 vs. 6 (5 plus goalkeeper), max roster is 10
  • Length of each half - 25 minutes, (15 minute halves for jamboree), 5 minute halftime
  • Regular offside rules apply
  • Penalty kicks and slide tackling are not allowed
  • Use fouls as a teaching opportunity. Do call fouls when necessary
  • Direct kicks are allowed
  • Sendoffs and cautions (red and yellow cards) are allowed
  • No scores will be kept

U-11 Rules

  • Size of Ball - #4
  • Number of players on field - 9 vs. 9 (8 plus goalkeeper), max roster is 14
  • Length of each half - (15 minute halves for jamboree), 5 minute halftime
  • Regular offside rules apply
  • Penalty kicks and slide tackling are allowed
  • Direct kicks are allowed
  • Sendoffs and cautions (red and yellow cards) are allowed
  • No scores will be kept
